chapter 6 questions

1.David character’s is changing because he is acting like he don’t care anymore. He’s changing because he feels like there’s no point in been a good boy.
2.Yes I can relate because when I don’t want to get hurt, I act mean and stop caring for things.
3.David started stealing stuff just because he wanted to.
4.The kids would follow him to the stores and give him a lot of attention.
5.He became fed up with the teeter totter effect of his new life.
6.David’s plan when he would get caught would be the off-the-cuff- lie and second would be he simply run like hell.
7.He wanted to get attention because it felt so good inside when the other kids would call his name and greet him.
8.Johnny was one of the kids in school. His dad was the store manager in Walgreens.
9.David was stealing a toy for Johnny and Johnny’s dad caught him.
10.Rudy is his foster dad. He disciplines on how the kids act bad and when they get into trouble. the Hill is where Rudy takes them and kick his butt.
11.David plan on running away.
12.He went to get his savings because he was going to run away.
13.David went to the Serra Monte 6 movie theater.
14.The manager from a store called Rudy. David gave him the number.
15.I think his dad never showed up or called because David’s mom probably didn’t let him.
16.Ms. Gold started crying because she didn’t want to loose David.
17.The meeting with Ms. Gold made him feel good and better.

chapter 5 questions

1.I think Larry is mean because he had a bad past and is hurt that’s why he acts mean.
2.David’s new found passion is riding his bike almost all day long.
3.When David came back home and Lilian wasn’t home, Larry started harassing David. Larry meant that he’ll kick David’s butt when he said clean your clock.
4.David fought back because he was tired of people always putting him down. Yes I think he was doing the right thing because is about time.
5.Chris real parents abandoned him as a small child.
6.Chris has been over a dozen foster homes.
7.It was Chris last year in foster home because he was 17 about to turn 18.
8.I think Larry just wanted David to call him uncle just to make David say whatever he wants.
9.Lilian took David to a psychiatrist so the doctor could help him in the head.
10.I don’t think the doctor was nice. No David reacted the way he felt so it was right nothing wrong with that.
11.The doctor kept calling David Daniel. If I was on David’s situation I would have been really mad and said something.
12.The sessions are awkward because when the doctor asks a question David answers but then the doctor cuts him off. Then when David tells the doctor that his named is David not Daniel the doctor ignores him.
13.Larry and David ride by David’s old house. I don’t think is a good idea because the mom is crazy and she could of hurt him.
14.I think David did it just to see what would happen.
15.David got in trouble for passing by his mothers house. The punishment was not like his mothers because he got grounded instead of getting beat up.
16.Lillian's important conversation with dad was
17.He was upset because the phone number was not in service no more. He thought it was another of mom’s game.
18.The dad never visits.
19.He wishes that he would come and that they would live together.

~* Chapter 8 Questions *~

1.David was treated differently because the other kids would eye him with suspicious, whenever he walked in a room they would flash him false smiles, and Big Larry brushed him off when he moved out.
2.Gordon visited David to tell him he had to pack his stuff because he was moving to another foster home. David was shocked and wonder if he had done something wrong.
3.The 2 ultimate rules were to never become attached and to never take someone’s home for granted.
4.Gordon couldn’t find a place for David to stay at.
5.Gordon would go to any foster home and ask the parents if they can take David on late notice.
6.David compares Gordon to a chameleon-personality.
7.David's new family was Joanne Nulls and Michael Nulls.
8.David’s new foster mom would treat David as a toy doll. She would insist in washing his hair and gave him two quarters for his allowance instead of $2.50.
9.He would spent most of his time wandering around the house he spend hours gazing at articles, then he would watch television, and then go to his room and color in his coloring book.
10.Joanne and Michael were having problems because Michael didn’t really want David in the house and Joanne found out that Michael was having an affair.
11.David has been in three homes so far.
12.The difference was that his new parents were black.
13.Gordon told him not to get near his mom and stay away from her.
14.Seven foster kids live with Vera.
15.The family environment was good and they like Jody because when ever he came home every body would compete for his attention.
16.Jody chuckled like Santa Claus and everyone compete for his attention when he was home.
17.David’s new friend is Carlos. Carlos is a shy Hispanic guy that speaks almost no English.
18.David runs into his brother Russell. He has bruises in his arms and his clothes is thin, he is skinny and his shoes old.
19.I think he is because Russell mentioned she drinks more and is worse than before.
20.David saw his mom behind Russell.
21.Jody was accused of statutory rape.
22.All the kids had to pack there stuff to go to another foster home or go to juvenile hall.
23.David ends up with the Alice Turnbough.
