Part one:
He helped his father by waking him up when they were going to throw him out of the train.
About the father having a piece of bread in his chest and his son beating his own father for piece of bread. At the end they both end up dying though.
Only a dozen, 12, had got out of the wagon. They had arrived at Buchenwald.
The father had less hoped now and the son was the one encouraging his father.
I would feel so worthless and probably still try to stay alive. I will feel painful, hurtful, and at the same time mad.
Part two:
The setting is that they are in a carriage stack up with other prisoners as well. Its freezing and cold.
That it doesn’t matter if they die today or tomorrow because he thinks that either way there going to die at some point.
I think if Elie’s father was to die he will still be motivated to live for himself.
They got rid of the dead bodies so there can be more space in the carriage.
Life in this chapter was horrible. A lot of people died in this chapter. The Germans would throw bread at them and the prisoners would fight for them. People killed their own relatives even.
The men would fight like animals for a piece a bread when the Germans would throw some bread in the wagon.
The Germans think is some kind of entertainment. They do that to entertain themselves.
He was behaving like an animal or person without feelings. He was behaving like this because they we so hungry they didn’t care who they kill they just wanted to eat.
Elie is 15 years old in this chapter.
I could relate in some ways. Like his anger and him wanting to protect his father and fight for survival. At the same time, the pain and what he went through for me there's no such thing like that. I don’t even think my feelings like hunger, sadness, tears are the same as for him.
Meir Kats was a worker at the garden. He was strong and nice because he would bring vegetables to them.
A man attacked Elie, but Elie doesn’t know why?
This journey, they feel like at this point they are going to die and that this is the end.
They arrived at Buchenwald.
My prediction for next chapter is that his father is going to die and Elie is going to keep fighting for survival. I think people are going to die more too and that they are going to starved more.
