Chapet 3 Vocabulary Words

1.Aqueduct: (noun) A channel or passage in a body or an organ. The aqueduct is the boy’s body was healthy and in good shape.







2.Verge: (noun) the limit or point beyond which something begins or occurs. The girl next to me was on the verge of annoying me.





3.Pediatrician: (noun) a physician who specializes in pediatrics. When they notice the boy was badly hurt, they took him to a pediatrician.







4.Ramble: (verb) to wander around in leisurely, aimless manner. They rambled around until it was dark and time to go in.





5.Unison: (noun) a process in which all elements behave in the same way at the same time. The cheerleaders performed and cheered all in unison.







6.Depressors: (noun) any of various muscles that serve to draw down a part of the body. The depressors in the mans body cause him to be in pain.







7.Rehearsed: (verb) to retell or recite. Our dance class rehearsed the dance before we performed on stage.







8.Hypersonic: (adj.) noting or pertaining to speed that is at least five times that of sound in the same medium.







9.Surge: (noun) a strong, wavelike, forward movement, rush, or sweep. When she stepped on the brakes unexpectedly, we all surge in unison.







10.Nudged: (noun) a slight or gentle push or jog, with the elbow. The guy nudged his younger brother when they were walking home.







11.Astounded: ( verb) to astonish or bewilder. I was astounded when the judge gave me full program in GRF.
